The beginning

Yeah sure let's start a phlog, why not? It took me literally 5 seconds to do
(i mean is `mkdir phlog; vim 1.txt` that hard?) so yeah. Who's gonna read this
anyways?

So welcome to the first phlog post of Park City, the internet community *thing*
that I totally started on a whim. Well, no, it's wrong for me to claim
ownership. ...yeah sure i guess i can give a little history lesson. why not?

Network Neighborhood

Once upon a 2015 there was a group named the Network Neighborhood on
Neocities. There's other people who can tell you about this. The details don't
matter. Long story short some internal drama happened and the thing went bust.
The leader of the NN, Spriteclad, went and did their own thing on their own
webserver.

*slides into yuor dms*

So around... early-mid 2018, Spriteclad, seeing my then-new site redesign with
the Viz sona, DMed me on Twitter. I cautiously accepted (I was still getting
over social anxiety issues, which by this point I'd say are mostly gone for
a variety of reasons) and we started chatting on Discord. For a few months.

Yeah turns out we really *really* got along so he invited me onto his Discord
server. Coolio. Over the next several months I got to know everyone on the
server pretty well, and yeah I'd consider that lil' internet group some of my
closest friends. (i find that irl friends come and go a lot just due to how
topsy-turvy my life is with university and internships and transferring from a
community college in 2018 and such...)

what's in a name

So around late November Sprite was toying around with new server names. Park
City was an option, we liked it, there ya go. Early December some of us in the
server were looking at domain names for sale. `park-city.club` was cheap so
yeah, i bought that. then i just repointed my existing invisibleup.com server
to that, made everyone accounts, and i'm still wondering what the heck the
actual plan is with this. how much of a *thing* is this? idk. we'll see, i
guess.

i should do this more, huh?
