Articles are scary
Well I never said I was going to ration them out. :p You've got me going, I'll
keep at it.
So on my website[1] I have these "articles". I think I named them that because
of the <article> HTML tag. They're usually long and big and really in depth
and they all have a banner. So if I want to write an article, I've got to
actually put in effort, ya know? Can't just zone out and mash on the keyboard
like I'm doing right now.
The last article I did, A27, was the one about how I have ADHD and why that
sucks. That took a *lot* of effort, like 3 or 4 months. Most of that was doing
the pictures, and then redoing the pictures with a mouse. (just got a drawing
tablet for christmas woo~) i guess internally i've built the articles up to be
such big scary beasts that i can't possibly just *do* another one.
well, that and i've hella overwhelmed this year between stressful semesters and
this stupid space satellite research project that has me in *constant* crunch.
Look, no, you can't dump a weird system with 4 MSP430s chained together and
expect me to write 90% of the software for it in ~6 months. I mean I *did*
but you *know* it's not properly tested. It's a miracle the processors can
even keep in sync with each other blah blah vlflkergmlgm sorry i'm annoyed. at
space.
honestly i don't even want to go into aerospace stuff anymore. it doesn't help
anyone. oh boy we made a big beepy box in the sky so the gov't can spy on us
better or some corporation can charge us $70/mo for advertisements and trash tv.
oh, wherever would we be without *that*. GPS and satellite phones/internet are
really the only good things but also *there's really beter alternatives* that
don't always require taking the massive amounts of energy to go into space. and
don't get me started on spacex. went to a event they had on for people
interested in interning and it was in the basement of this super loud pub
(which thanks to the auditory processing disorder i probably have meant that
it was all overwhelming and i couldn't hear a single thing from anybody) and
the guy was talking about... well i couldn't realy piece together too much but
he mentioned that they work 90 hours a week and *screw that*. talking about
how they were driven by *passion* and i'm just wondering how they can sustain
that for so long. work life balance is healthy. ps watch the rae the doe xmas
carol it's hella good. [2]
Wow yeah i'm being *super* rambly right now aren't i? was talking about articles
and such. being scary. this is a sentiment i felt before which is why i did the
silly one about the intro to the Faces of Evil. needed a break from that stupid
game jam series. why did i think that was a good idea.
quite frankly i'm not even sure if i want to publish this *masterpiece* of a
braindump but eh. i'm sure someone appreciates it.
oh yeah if you were curious basically how i write an article is that i do this
in a document but a bit more structured (like entry 001) and then i just sorta
revise it and do research or whatever and then i make the images and then i
publish it. yee.
